and Chander, that Secretary Sir John Pakington having received a report from the General Officer Commanding as to the sites which it may be desirable to retain for military purposes, considers that the whole of the land between the new Road and the 500 feet contour, coloured green on the enclosed Plan, (which has hitherto been claimed by this Department as having been reserved for Military purposes) may be transferred to the Colonial authorities for building purposes, subject to the condition that no building shall be erected within 200 yards of the existing Magazines, Laboratory, or to lofts that may be used for the storage of Powder or other Explosive material.
